Whirling Dervishes ceremony is included in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO belonging to Turkey. The history of this ceremony belongs to the philosophy of Mevlevi, and dates back to the 13th century. While watching this 700 year's cultural ritual, we are sure that you will be amazed!

About Experience

In your experience, you will learn about Mevlana, who is known for his world-famous words and the founder of Mevlevi, and about the whirling dervishes. You will also be able to visit the exhibition where musical instruments, clothes, and accessories belonging to the whirling dervish tradition an important part of Turkish culture.

Afterwards, you will watch the Sema show at 19.00. The show will last approximately 1 hour. The ceremony consists of 7 parts dealing with the birth of humanity and each one addresses a different meaning. The clothes worn, the objects used in the scene and the movements all have different meanings.
